Accessibility Statement

Sheene Mill is committed to making both this website and the venue itself as welcoming and accessible as possible. This statement was last updated on 16 June 2026.

sheenemill.com

We aim to make sheenemill.com conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. Those guidelines cover four principles: the site should be perceivable, operable, understandable and robust.

Perceivable

Readable by Everyone

Images carry descriptive alt text. Colour is not used as the sole means of conveying information. Text can be resized up to 200 per cent without loss of content or function.

Operable

Keyboard and Screen Reader Friendly

All interactive elements are reachable and operable by keyboard. A skip link lets keyboard users jump directly to the main content. Animations respect the user's reduced-motion preference.

Understandable

Clear and Consistent

Pages are written in plain English. The language is declared as British English (en-GB) in the HTML so screen readers choose the correct pronunciation rules. Navigation behaves predictably throughout.

Robust

Built on Clean Markup

The site uses semantic HTML5, valid structured data (JSON-LD) and is tested across current browsers and assistive technologies. We do not rely on deprecated or proprietary code paths.

Found a Barrier on the Site?

We review the site regularly but may not have caught every issue. If you encounter something that prevents you from using any part of sheenemill.com, please tell us. We take all reports seriously and will work to fix them.

Contact us by email at reservations@sheenemill.com or by phone on 01763 261393. Please describe the page you were visiting, the assistive technology you were using if any, and what you were trying to do. We aim to respond within five working days.

If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS).

Visiting Sheene Mill

Sheene Mill is a sixteenth century listed building set in landscaped riverside grounds. Parts of the original structure have thresholds, uneven surfaces and areas that may be harder to navigate for some guests.

From the wedding FAQs we understand that most of the venue is on ground level with ramps where needed, and that a side gate gives wheelchair access to the gardens in addition to the main entrance. We would always encourage you to speak with us before your visit so we can advise on the best route for your needs and make any practical arrangements.

Please call us on 01763 261393 or email reservations@sheenemill.com to discuss your access requirements. We are happy to plan your visit with you in advance.
