The Company importing this product from Italy has a very simple and clear mission statement: “My mission is to be completely open about what we’re drinking and cut sugar where it’s not needed. We’re not counting calories, but we share them for transparency. My mission is for us to ask why we can’t drink better and cleaner. I’ve developed my own range of top quality sparkling wines to answer this question.” What did Phillip & Holly think about Skinny Prosecco: Keep your eyes open for NEW Skinny Prosecco at Sheene Mill very soon.
Real Weddings: The Most Amazing Day
Serena & Adam Jordan 12 . 08 . 16 When you own a wedding venue, and the day finally comes to actually get married yourselves, you begin to feel the pressure build! Jordan and I had been together for 9 years when he popped the question… It was in a moment of complete surprise, when I was feeling anything but glamorous! (It’s a long story, but if you do want to hear more about my ‘pain’, quite literally! You can read the full story here: http://www.mrandmrsjordan.com/the-proposal/ ) Whilst we had been together for a long time, we had a business to run together and always had bigger, more important things to focus on within the business – The concept of even planning a wedding for ‘myself’, just felt like something I would never have the time to do!! However, as every ‘bride to be’ does, I found my time and started to begin the planning process!… The first thing we needed to confirm was the venue!!… Holding our wedding at the Sheene Mill was a ‘no brainer’! Whilst I admit, I was a little worried about the potential added pressure and the concept of being ‘at work’ at first, I […]
The WOW moment
When we first received this photograph from Phil Lynch we nearly broke the internet. The response and praise was incredible. But as Phil will tell you, this isn’t a simple point and click photo opportunity. It’s always good to have an idea of the style of photography for your big day and some examples to hand to your photographer always helps. This gives your photographer the best opportunity to get the shot and equipment needed setup ready. For this particular shot Phil had multiple flashes positioned behind the bride and groom to ensure they were lit up with minimal shadows. To get a general all round focus across the trees multiple shots were stitched together electronically to ensure everything looked crisp. When the raw image is ready there is then always some touching up to do on PhotoShop. Highlighting the night sky, twinkling lights in the trees and ensuring the vibrant colours of the garden lighting were all key parts of making this photograph what it is. 14 Festive Facts about Christmas
The Germans made the first artificial Christmas trees out of dyed goose feathers. Each year more than 3 billion Christmas cards are sent in the U.S. alone. All the gifts in the Twelve Days of Christmas would equal 364 gifts. According to data analysed from Facebook posts, two weeks before Christmas is one of the two most popular times for couples to break up. However, Christmas Day is the least favourite day for breakups. Most of Santa’s reindeer have male-sounding names, such as Blitzen, Comet, and Cupid. However, male reindeers shed their antlers around Christmas, so the reindeer pulling Santa’s sleigh are likely not male, but female or castrated. The world’s largest Christmas stocking measured 106 feet and 9 inches (32.56 m) long and 49 feet and 1 inch (14.97 m) wide. It weighed as much as five reindeer and held almost 1,000 presents. It was made by the Children’s Society in London on December 14, 2007. Christmas trees usually grow for about 15 years before they are sold. Mistletoe (Viscum album) is from the Anglo-Saxon word misteltan, which means “little dung twig” because the plant spreads though bird droppings. President Teddy Roosevelt, an environmentalist, banned Christmas trees from the White […]

Open bars… yes or no?
One of the biggest questions we get at The Sheene Mill is whether the bridal couple should have an open bar or not? There is no simple answer to this question. The answer will depend on several things, including: Budget Size of Wedding Expectation Day of the week Accommodation of your guests Evening Buffet The most important of all the above is budget. If there isn’t room within your budget to have an open bar then the answer is quite simple. If this is the case then consider putting slightly more wine on the tables during the meal so that your guests don’t feel hard done to when they only get half a bottle. Tips on choosing wine for the table. If you have room in your budget for an open bar but have no idea how much this could cost you then consider doing the following: Limit / restrict open bar to a set amount Limit open bar to a certain time Restrict the types of drinks made available You may find that for a 100 guest wedding a £1000 bar tab will go a long way and ensure that all of your guests get at least 1 free […]
Below is a general update from Cambridgeshire Registration Service. Customer Contact As always at this time of year we are experiencing a very busy time post-Christmas with ceremony booking enquiries, both for this year and several years ahead, and it seems timely to issue a few reminders to help us to help the customers we share: We recommend that when talking to customers, you advise them that the sooner they book with us (which they can do as soon as they have decided on a potential date with yourselves provided they are legally free to marry / form a civil partnership) the more likely it is that the time they want will be available. We already have bookings going in for 2019 /2020! As we take bookings so far in advance people booking at relatively short notice (for example for peak season Saturdays this year) are understandably sometimes disappointed with the times still available, but we have to deal with customers on a first come first served basis. When discussing with your customers please encourage them to be flexible around the times that work for you too. On the booking form (available on http://www.cambridgeshire.gov.uk/info/20103/ceremonies/17/marriage_and_civil_partnership_ceremonies), it gives the opportunity to give […]
