Our immediate focus is to work with the couples whose weddings are taking place over the next few months. All we ask is for a little patience as it is a busy time, and we are making every effort to help all our couples. We aim to get back to you within five working days.


We have taken plenty of steps to ensure that Sheene Mill is a safe environment for everyone who attends our venue. Here are some of the measures that we have put in place.

  • A full and thorough risk assessment and extra measures to make the venue Covid-safe
  • Additional training for all our staff
  • Adapted our service to continue to deliver incredible events that adhere to the government guidelines
  • Additional handwashing and sanitising facilities
  • Temperature checks upon arrival
  • Helpful signage throughout the venue
  • One way system throughout the premises
  • Extra cleaning
  • Fully supporting test and trace


We understand you have concerns about the impact COVID-19 may have on your upcoming wedding and most of you will have discussed the options available to you. If not, please see our postponement options below.

Your happiness is our main priority, so we can offer you five options to help you find the right way forward with your wedding. We will discuss all the options with you and are ready to help as much as we can so you can find the option that is right for you.

We will be reaching out to you as soon as possible and will be speaking to couples in order of their wedding dates, so we ask for a little patience if we haven’t contacted you just yet. It’s a very busy time for our sales team and they are making every effort to help each couple whose wedding will be affected.

Weddings taking place after the end of April 2021.

If your wedding is taking place after the end of April 2021, there is currently no indication from the government that the venue will be closed or even have a restriction on guest numbers yet. Should anything change, we will update you, but for now we would urge you to continue with your plans. If your wedding is affected, options will be offered to you closer to the time.


Since March 2020, we have been working around the clock to find solutions for our couples whose wedding plans have been impacted by Covid-19. It has been a huge challenge for everyone, at a time of great worry and uncertainty. The ever-changing rules and guidance have made life particularly difficult for weddings which require so much planning and are such an important life event.

We will update this page as and when anything changes so please keep checking back. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding. We will get through it together.


We have set out the options we have made available below.

We reserve the right to review and amend these options at any time.

For all options to be considered, all payments must be up to date on your account with us.

We are expecting the next significant Government update in February 2021.

Option 1


Say “I do”, raise a glass, enjoy your day!

 Ceremonies and receptions were previously allowed to take place with up to 15 people in attendance. This may very well change by the time your day comes around. We have made every effort to ensure that our venue is Covid-safe and follows the government guidelines, so that you can enjoy an intimate and unforgettable day with us and celebrate with your nearest and dearest.

If you want your wedding to go ahead, we can offer you our current food and drink options to enjoy after your ceremony. Whilst there might be a 10pm curfew, evening food will still be provided for all guests and our overnight rooms are available to you as normal.

If the government maximum numbers at the time is greater than 15 guests, this will be your new maximum number of guests. We will requote your wedding day based on this new amount. Existing promotions will not apply unless the minimum numbers/ minimum spend detailed in the offer is still achieved and falls within current government guidelines.

For those couples with full exclusivity, the venue is still completely yours to enjoy, so you can make the most of your surroundings and spend quality time with the ones you love.

The venue will aim to provide as much of your original plan as possible within the guidelines and restrictions set.

We will talk you through all your options as well as what you can expect and how social distancing guidelines may affect the flow of your day. We’ve had a number of weddings take place recently with reduced numbers, and you can rest assured we will do everything we can to make sure you have an incredible day.

Option 2


Exchange vows, reschedule the reception for Take Two

You can choose to have your ceremony on your original date and postpone your planned reception. This would mean that you can still hold your ceremony with government guidelines in place with whatever the maximum  attendance will be, and then postpone your reception to any available date up to 31st December 2022. Your ceremony can take place as planned and you and your guests can stay to capture photographs before heading home.

Sheene Mill will not charge you anything to have your ceremony with us as long as your payment schedule is up to date and we have agreed in writing a new date and new quote for your reception. Any payments you have already made will be transferred to your future reception date.

We will provide 1.5 hours of ceremony room use. If you wish to plan some refreshments or food following your ceremony, this can be arranged with your wedding coordinator. If you wish to extend these times, this would charged for in addition and invoiced seperately.

A new T&C’s contract will need to be signed due to the changes to your day.

Option 3


Save a new date

Postpone your whole wedding and transfer your booking to any available date up to 31st March 2022. There will be no postponement fees for doing so.

We will work with you to explore available dates and find the perfect new wedding date for you, and any payments you have already made will be transferred to your new date.

We will provide a new quote based on the numbers of your original agreement and the new date selected. Should your new venue hire quote fee be lower than your original, the difference will be deducted from your balance. If the new venue hire quote is more expensive, then the increase will be payable.

A new T&C’s contract will need to be signed due to the changes to your day.

Option 4


When you need a change of direction

Whilst we hope that this is not what will happen, if you wish to cancel your plans completely, our agreed terms and conditions will therefore apply. Please familiarise yourselves with the cancellation section of your contract.


While there is so much confusion and worry, not to mention ever-changing guidelines to follow, we want you to know that our main concern is, and always has been, your happiness. We are here to help and support you while you make these big decisions about your wedding day and will do everything we can to make sure it is right for you.

While we understand that plenty of you will have concerns and questions about your wedding, we are asking for a little patience as we help the many couples who are in your position. We are working through bookings in date order and will make contact with you as soon as we can to discuss the finer details of each of these options. Our team is extremely busy and some are working remotely at the moment, which means that our response time is a little longer than usual, but we are doing all we can to speak to you as soon as possible.

If your wedding date falls beyond the end of April 2021, we will contact you if any further updates become available. At this time, we can only plan for your wedding to take place as planned and your agreed terms and conditions therefore apply.
